Associate Member Policy 2024

Associate memberships are available to businesses located outside the Clarkson Village Business Improvement Area (BIA)* boundary.

Clarkson Village BIA Associate Member Policy 2024

Associate members will be provided with the following from April 1, 2024 – March 31, 2025 for a fee of $225.

1. Business listing on www.clarksonbia.com.
2. Regular email newsletters from the BIA. 
3. Participation in BIA events, including community and networking events. 
4. Content posted to associate member social media accounts will occasionally be re-shared by the BIA. In some instances, BIA staff may work with associate members to create original content related to their business.
5. Private Facebook group membership: BIA staff and volunteers moderate a Facebook group for BIA members and associate members, to encourage information sharing and community collaboration. 
6. Participation in promotions and advertising exclusive to BIA members. 
7. Participation on committees where possible. 
8. Input into events, advocacy, heritage/urban design guidelines, promotions and advertising.
9. Input into other items related to the economic development of the business community (strategic planning, parking, etc.).

Associate members will receive all of the services listed above, but will not have voting rights at the BIA’s Annual General Meeting, or be able to participate in Clarkson Village streetscape or maintenance programs.

Associate memberships are available to businesses in the following geographical area. Commercial property/storefront is not required.

• North to South Service Road & south to Lake Ontario
• West to Winston Churchill & east to Mississauga Rd. (to the north)/Lorne Park Rd. (to the south).

Associate memberships, both at the time of joining the BIA and throughout any given year, are at the discretion of the Clarkson BIA Board of Directors.

A prorated fee is not available mid-membership year. 

This policy was approved by the Clarkson Village BIA Board of Directors on February 13, 2024.

*The Clarkson Village Business Improvement Area is located along Lakeshore Rd. W. in Mississauga, from east of Southdown Rd. over to just east of Meadow Wood Rd. (City of Mississauga By-Law 909-89). Businesses within this defined business area are automatically BIA members, and fees are paid through a levy applied to City of Mississauga commercial property taxes.
